We brought you the leaked first photos of the new Saab 9-5 a few weeks back. But today the veil of secrecy is lifted and we can bring you the full unexpurgated version of events: the 9-5 photo gallery and details behind the new Saab that will, next spring, finally replace one of the most geriatric cars on sale today.Yes, the current 9-5 is – bewilderingly – 12 years old, a surefire indication of just how low down General Motors' pecking order Saab lay. Although developed under GM's tenure, the new 9-5 is a beacon of hope for the now-independent Saab.
Apparently, Sir Alex Ferguson, the team's manager, believes that Chevy's most potent offering is a bit more than some of his young players will be able to handle. According to the Daily Mail, Chevrolet has offered the soccer team's top stars their pick of Chevrolet models, but the infamously strict Ferguson has issued an edict that no player under age 23 will be allowed to order a Corvette. Further images and details of Toyota's FT-86 Open concept have been revealed ahead of its unveiling at next week's Geneva motor show. The FT-86, a rear-wheel-drive sports convertible, previews a potential future development of the GT86 sports coupe. Toyota is using the concept, which measures in at 4,240mm long, 1,775mm wide, 1,270mm high sitting on a wheelbase of 2,570mm, to gauge public reaction while carrying out engineering tests on a prototype.
